2009 Sisseton
Elementary Camp
The Sisseton Hau Koda Learning Camp will have campers from grades 1st through 6th grades and the projected enrollment is 50 campers.
We will serve a breakfast snack and lunch each day. It would be wonderful to have a Camp Cook!
We will need a staff of 10 counselors to work in pairs with 5 groups of campers. The counselors will help their campers at the various learning stations.
We will need 5 Station Leaders for the various learning stations in this rotation model camp. The stations may include Reading, Art, Math, Technology and Games/Sports. The station content will be developed and decided on as we identify camp staff and their strengths and interests.
We will need 4 van drivers to provide transportation to and from the airport and for day trips. We will also use our camp vans for camper transportation.Van drivers must be 25 or older and will also serve in another camp staff capacity.
The camp will run from Monday - Thursday from around 9:00 - 12:30. There will also be a planned special activity for campers and their family members.
We will need a staff of 16 people for the Sisseton camp.
We will have a sightseeing day on the first Saturday and will also be attending the Grand Entry of the annual Powwow on Friday evening, July 3. We will also have other times during the week to see local points of interest and time to visit with our Dakota Presbytery hosts.
